About Robert Fettgather

A member of Psychologists for Social Responsibility, Robert Fettgather holds a Ph.D. in psychology, master’s degrees in psychology and special education, and a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. For more than 38 years, he has served as an associate faculty member with Mission College in Santa Clara, California, where he teaches classes such as abnormal psychology, general psychology, and human development. Dr. Fettgather has received a Certificate of Recognition for Published Work from Santa Clara University and a Distinguished Alumnus Award from West Valley College. Dr. Fettgather’s multifaceted teaching career includes 26 years with a community college program at Agnews Developmental Center, where he taught language development and independent living skills to adults with developmental disabilities. He has also volunteered with the Coalition for Elder and Disability Rights to promote human rights for elders and adults with disabilities. Outside his professional pursuits, Dr. Fettgather enjoys weight training, hiking, and camping. He expressed his interest in meditation and Buddhism to help co-found the Tashi Lhunpo Sangha, where he led discussions for several years.
